It’s always so interesting to see what clients will put your artwork on. I never pictured this print on swimwear, but SheinX recently printed my art and printed it on this bikini. The photo has a blue tint to it but the original print is attached. I wish I could see it without the blue sky in the photo because I think it would show off the white background of the print better. However, as an artist who sells work commercially you have to be okay with your art being used differently, or even changed. It’s important for designers to realize you are in a commercial business and not selling a personal piece of art that will be displayed “as is.”
If you’re an artist working with SheinX, feel free to reach out! I know Shein has had a lot of negative press over the years. My contact there assured me that things have improved and I did find their art buying process very transparent. I accepted a flat fee for this print. It was not an exclusive deal so I can still sell the art elsewhere. If you want to check it on on Shein’s site, I’m including the link. I do not get paid any royalties because of the agreement I selected.
