Coaching and setting goals

girl power hand lettered by Ellen Morse

May 13, 2022 //  by ellen//  Leave a Comment

It’s been some time since I worked with a coach. If you’re not already doing so, I highly recommend doing this for your business, or any personal goals you might have. The best part about coaching for me is accountability. This is huge! If you are going to workout, meeting a friend for a run makes it much harder to cancel. I know I’d feel bad not showing up for a friend, so why do we put ourselves last and not show up for ourselves?

I have been fortunate enough to receive coaching through University of Buffalo’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and was connected to Carol Sorber, of Catchfire Consulting, LLC. Although Carol doesn’t live locally to me, it’s not an issue (thank you, Zoom, one benefit of the pandemic) Carol has a pragmatic approach and keeps me on task — something I need as a left brain creative with a million thoughts and ideas. Carol is experienced working with creatives, as well as those in other industries.

We are about half way through our 10 sessions. I have a clear list of goals and objectives, I feel much more clear about the direction my business is headed now. Whenever I start to feel overwhelmed, I circle back to my goal progress sheet and can re-focus.

I highly recommend you find a coach you can connect with! And if you’re open to remote coaching, contact Carol:)

Note: I am not receiving compensation for promoting UB’s CEL or Carol Sorber’s coaching business.
