stylists page design from Parlour Williamsville NY website. Created by Ellen Morse

From a Williamsville hair salon to a bookkeeper in Niagara Falls: A peek at my latest site designs

If you’re a business owner or designer, chances are you have a website!

I first began designing websites way back in 1998. I’ve worked on sites for large Fortune 500 clients such as Whirlpool, HP, and art directed Experian’s first site.

Now I design websites for small businesses. I used to design exclusively in WordPress, but depending upon the project, site builders are a great alternative.

New site design for Parlour Williamsville

Parlour Williamsville website design created by Ellen MorseMy favorite platform for designing sites is Showit, where I designed my own site and where I recently completed a refresh of an original site I did for Parlour, an amazing hair salon in Williamsville, NY. Parlour has been in business 10 years now and it was time for a new site! The brand photography on Parlour’s site was shot by Nicole Hodge, and even though the photos are from years ago, the quality still holds up today. This is an example of how custom photography really enhances your brand.

The nice thing about designing in Showit is how much much flexibility you have to create a visually appealing site. Showit was originally used by photographers but is now widely used by creators, consultants, coaches, etc. It’s a great option for anyone who wants to push the envelope in design with a drag & drop user-friendly interface.

New site design for Truetally Bookkeeping

I’ve also had the pleasure of recently designing a one page site for Lisa Dugan of Truetally Bookkeeping. Lisa started her business within the past year and is already having great success! She needed a web presence that she would easily be able to modify and expand as time goes on. We used Squarespace for this design.

I made sure we had all pertinent information on one page. I use the Donald Miller StoryBrand framework for copywriting and content creation for my website designs, which is a proven method to clarify your marketing messaging.

Using this method, Lisa and I worked closely to develop her copy and content for her site. I used stock photography on the site to add visual interest and help support her brand, without the expense of a custom photo shoot.

I appreciate your referrals!

If you know anyone who needs a new site design or simply has questions about how to enhance their own website design, please send them my way!
